Grissom Insurance Group, formerly Timmons Insurance Group, has been proudly serving Lakeway, Austin, and the Central Texas area for over 30 years. Our journey began in the Lakeway Plaza, and today, we are back at our original location. We specialize in personal lines property insurance, representing several of Texas’ top-rated insurance companies. Our services include Home, Auto, Boat, Flood, and Life Insurance.

Our Team
Grissom Insurance Group has two offices serving Central Texas and the Hill Country. Our first office opened in Lakeway, TX, and over the years, we have expanded to Cedar Park and Kingsland, TX. Founded in 1986 by Hershel Timmons and later managed by his daughter-in-law Alva Timmons from 2001, our agency remains a family business. Alva grew the business by involving multiple family members, including her niece Heather Grissom, who joined in 2006.
We proudly support local schools, athletic programs, chambers of commerce, and various service organizations. Our family atmosphere extends to our clients and communities. We are committed to exceeding your expectations with prompt and personal service.
Meet Our Team
Heather Grissom
Owner and Agent of Record
Heather, a mother of three (twin boys Matthew and Mark, and daughter Emily), is married to Matt Grissom, head baseball coach at Leander High School. She has lived in the Leander area for over 20 years and is actively involved in her community. Heather holds her P&C and Health and Life insurance licenses. Before purchasing the agency, she was the personal lines manager for all Timmons Insurance offices.
Teresa Gray
Personal Lines Specialist – Kingsland
Teresa is married with two daughters and holds a BA in elementary education from the University of Houston. She has been an agent since April 1997 and loves volunteer work. She is actively involved in various community organizations and events.
Mary Wehmeyer
Personal Lines Specialist – Cedar Park
Mary, a mother of two grown children, Justin (a firefighter) and Kristin (a law school graduate), joined Timmons Insurance in 2016 with over 20 years of experience. She holds her P&C and Life & Health insurance licenses.
Angela Wrinkle
Personal Lines Specialist – Cedar Park
Angela is the proud mother of two young men, Schuyler and Tanner. Schuyler is newly married to the love of his life Dr. Karigon Rion. Angela has been married for 35 years to Thomas Wrinkle, loves this stage of life and spending time with family. She has lived in Williamson County for 23 years and has worked in the insurance industry for 19 years. She holds her P&C and Health and Life insurance licenses.
Jennifer Grissom-Choate
Office Manager
Jennifer is the proud mother of two young men, Brendon and Carson. Both boys served in the United States Air Force and are now vets. Brendon is married to Pearl, and living in Michigan. He will be graduating from the University of Michigan in 2025, GO BLUE. Carson is living in Austin and works as a cybersecurity specialist. Jennifer lives in Yoakum Texas with the love of her life, Chuck. She has worked in accounting and office management for over 25 years. She holds her P&C insurance license.
Alva Timmons
Agent – Business Manager
Alva Timmons was the owner and agent of record for Timmons Insurance Group until 12/31/2022. She has been happily married for 27 years to her husband Derek, and they have raised two successful grown children – Kaily and Ross. Alva has owned the agency since 2001 after purchasing the business from her father-in-law, Hershel Timmons. Alva handles all business management of the company. She is very involved in the Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce, among other service projects.
